Practice Management

  • Karen Neary (Full time)

    The Practice Manager is responsible for the overall organisation and administration of the Practice. The Practice Manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The Practice Manager supports the GPs, other medical professionals and Admin Team with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care. You may contact the Practice Manager at either the Horden or Peterlee Surgeries. She is also the first point of contact for any complaints and suggestions.

  • Louise Armstrong (Full time)

    The Deputy Practice Manager is responsible for overseeing the smooth running of the Practice and deputising for the Practice Manager in her absence. They are responsible for the production of performance and quality standards within the practice. To manage data quality issues, providing advice and guidance to all practice staff in the use of the clinical system. To oversee the claims process for work undertaken as part of enhanced national or local services. The Deputy Practice Manager can be contacted at both sites and is available to deal with any complaints or suggestions you may have.

Administration Team

Our Reception staff will make appointments and help you with any enquiries you may have regarding the services of the Practice. They are here to give as much help as they can to make your access to the Doctors or Nurses as easy as possible. They cannot give medical advice, but will endeavour to link you with the relevant person.

Our Secretaries will help with queries regarding hospital appointments and completion of insurance forms.

All Practice staff are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as Doctors

The administration team have an important job and endeavour to deal with your queries, appointments and repeat prescriptions etc as efficiently as possible. They have enquiries and calls coming from every direction, so please be patient.

When telephoning for medical attention, the receptionists may ask for a few details. They have been trained to make these enquiries in order that we can help you in the most appropriate way.

All members of the administration team have completed Information Governance Training (this involves training in various aspects of confidentiality and security of patient information and the Data Protection Act.) They have all completed training in Child Protection and CPR.

Our Reception Team are the frontline staff within our Practice and are there to help you.  They work very hard, often during very busy times and we request that you treat them with the kindess and respect that they deserve.
