Book/Cancel Appointments
Appointments
We see all patients by appointment, to help reduce the time you spend in the waiting room.
To book an appointment, please telephone the surgery during our opening times, Monday-Friday. You will normally be offered an appointment with the Doctor of your choice, but at very busy times, it is helpful if you are prepared to see any of the GP’s
REMEMBER – If you are unable to keep your appointment, please let us know, preferably before your appointment time, so that your appointment can be offered to someone else.
The Practice offers a late surgery from 6.00pm – 8.00pm on a Monday evening at our Peterlee surgery for patients who have difficulty attending during normal surgery hours.

Telephone Consultations and Online Appointments
If you wish to speak to a Doctor for advice, the receptionist will offer an appointment with the Doctor in a designated telephone consultation slot.
Patients can now book appointments online. You can download the NHS App from your Appstore or call into the Surgery to register for this service. Please bring 2 forms of ID (and a photo ID) with you when registering.
Appointments are only set up 2 weeks ahead, and any queries regarding appointments must be done by telephone rather than email messages.
Training
Occasionally, medical students or nurses who require further training are attached to the Practice and may wish to sit in during consultations. Your permission will always be asked first.
Home Visits
If possible please try to telephone reception before 10:00am if you require a home visit.
A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.
House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.
Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Health Centre.
Text Messages
We can now send a text message to your mobile reminding you of your appointment, please ensure we have your correct mobile number.
If you do not wish to receive text messages from us, please inform one of our Receptionists who will remove you from this service.
